Tips to Keep SPC Flooring Looking New for Years?

As a popular flooring option on the market today, SPC flooring is widely used in both commercial and residential settings. However, long-term daily use can to wear and tear, requiring regular maintenance. As the saying goes, "30% depends on material, 70% on maintenance" – proper upkeep not only extends the flooring’s lifespan but also keeps it looking bright and new. So, how to correctly maintain SPC locking flooring? Let’s take a look below~
Although SPC flooring boasts advantages like water resistance and wear resistance compared to traditional solid wood flooring, it still requires careful handling. Like ordinary wooden flooring, SPC formaldehyde-free flooring should never be scrubbed with steel wool or scraped with knives. For stubborn stains that can’t be cleaned with regular methods, consult the after-sales service staff before attempting removal. Avoid using highly corrosive chemicals such as toluene or xylene for cleaning, as they may cause permanent damage to the flooring.
In daily use, clean and vacuum the flooring regularly. You can use a slightly damp mop to clean the surface of SPC locking flooring. Additionally, protect it from direct ultraviolet (UV) radiation to prevent discoloration or fading.
The "golden time" to remove stains from SPC locking flooring is before the stains dry. First, wipe off the stain with a towel, then clean the floor with water. The degree of soiling is closely related to the composition and color of the dirt, as well as the ambient temperature at the time. Promptly removing all types of stains from the floor is crucial for maintaining SPC locking flooring.
The SPC flooring produced by our company, Herewin Environmental Technology, has a fire resistance rating of B1, classifying it as a flame-retardant building decoration material. However, being non-combustible does not mean SPC flooring can directly contact fire sources. Therefore, in daily life, never place burning cigarette butts, mosquito coils, or hot metal objects (such as electric irons) directly on the flooring, as this may damage it.
While SPC flooring is more wear-resistant and durable than solid wood flooring, it’s not advisable to drag items – especially those with sharp metal bases – directly across the floor during moving. This prevents scratches and preserves the flooring’s appearance.
For high-traffic areas with heavy wear, use floor mats to remove grit from shoe soles, which reduces damage to the flooring. In such areas, shorten the maintenance cycle: apply floor wax quarterly to protect the surface. This not only maintains the flooring effectively but also keeps it looking polished and attractive.
The diverse patterns of SPC flooring bring a sense of joy, and its slight elasticity underfoot provides a comfortable feel. Even if a child trips and falls, the impact is minimized. Its elasticity, combined with its versatile color options, enhances decorative effects and adds a more humanized touch to any space.
